Question

Photoshop won't download on both my PC and my laptop

I recently installed windows 11 on my PC and went to redownload photoshop but after the file would download it would just disappear. I tried clearing the cache, using the cleaner tool, and some code thing from like 12 years ago but that wouldn’t work. I also borrowed a friends laptop and tried downloading it there but I got the error 14002

    Hi Michelle,

Since this is happening on two different machines right after a Windows 11 upgrade, it sounds like a registry permissions conflict or a third-party security block rather than a simple download glitch. Error 14002 usually points to Windows installer database corruption or restricted folder access.

Before trying anything complex, check if you have an aggressive third-party antivirus or Windows Defender blocking the installation in the background sometimes it silently quarantines Adobe installers thinking they're a threat. Try temporarily disabling it for a couple of minutes to see if the file still disappears.

Another quick fix that worked for me during a clean OS install is to create a brand new local Administrator account on Windows and try running the Creative Cloud installer from there. If it works, it means your current user profile has a permission restriction on the temporary installation folders.

Are you trying to run the standalone Photoshop installer file directly, or are you installing it through the main Creative Cloud desktop app?

I assume you’re installing Creative Cloud desktop app.

    1. Does your Win11 have the latest updates?
    2. Did you restart your computer?
    3. Do you have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ drivers?

    4. Do you have a computer user profile with Administrative permissions to install software? If not, you may need to ask your school or work IT dept for assistance.

    Hi @Michelle Yutuc,

We are sorry for the experience. Could you confirm your system’s technical details(OS version, RAM, GPU, processor, etc? Also, are you using any managed network like shared wifi with software firewall?

If yes, please disable the firewall and any antivirus on your system. Let us know if this helps.

    We are here!

    Version: 25H2
    OS Build: 26200.8246
    16 gigs of ram
GPU is NVIDIA GE Force RTX 3060
Processor is: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics (3.90 GHz)

I don’t think I’m using shared wifi? How do I check for that? I’ve been having this problem prior to even reinstalling my antivirus system

    Thanks for your response.
When I asked for shared wi-fi, I meant to ask that are you using a office/college wi-fi where it is managed by a server admin. There is a possibility that there are certain firewall that could be blocking the download. If yes, I would suggest you to connect to a different internet connection like a mobile hotspot and see if that works.
Also, please confirm if you have an anti-virus enabled on your device. If yes, please disable it and then test the download.

    Let me know the outcome.

Could I do the direct link even though I’m on windows 11? It looks like it only goes to windows 10?

I accidentally hit enter. But on my friend’s laptop it would at least download creative cloud and could download photoshop, but it wouldn’t open

Files must fully download, unpack, and install which can take a half-hour or more, depending on your PC’s performance.

If you use antivirus, firewall, or any other services like real-time backups, turn them off until after your installation completes.

At installation, you should be prompted by Windows UAC to allow the apps to make changes to your computer.  Hit YES to continue.

    Hope that helps.
