photoshop won't open after CS2 download.

I just reinstalled CS2 from the download and Illustrator and In Design are fine but Photoshop is called "Space Monkey" when the opening credits run and it is opening, and then a window says "username, serial number or company name is missing or invalid". Why did some programs download correctly, but not photoshop?

Which operating system are you using?  Did you have it installed and running successfully prior to the activation servers being shut down?  If so when was the last time you were able to successfully run Photoshop CS2?

it is OS X 10.6.8 2GHz intel core duo MacBook

I still have the programs running on my desktop (same operating system) but the video or graphics card is failing, it's not long for this life. But all three programs in CS2 work fine on that machine. I went to install the programs on this macbook Saturday, and Ill and Idesign worked fine but photoshop is claiming I don't have the proper user name, serial # or company name they are "missing or invalid" and like I said it opens as "Space Monkey" WTF?

Please reference Error: "...user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid..." when you start Photoshop Elements 4.0 (on MacOS)- http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/error-user-name-organization-or.html which may allow you to resolve your current difficulties.  As for Space Monkey that was the products code name.  I am unsure if this document will allow you to resolve the splash screen issue or not.

Also be aware that you do need Rosetta support to have the possibility of this working on a newer computer.  I would not recommend upgrading to 10.7 or 10.8 as support has been discontinued by Apple.  I believe you currently have Rosetta available to you in 10.6 because you have likely upgraded the OS from 10.5 or earlier on your current computer.
