"Please connect to the internet..." when I try to deactivate my CS5.5 Adobe product. HELP ME!

I need to deactivate my old CS5.5 Dreamweaver from my current computer, but it does not recognize that my computer is connected to the internet. I tried all the troubleshooting information listed in the help files on Adobe for connectivity and deactivation, including viewing multiple different websites in my browser, disconnecting from the internet and reconnecting, running connection diagnostics, restarting my computer (why not?), etc. and my internet is working perfectly fine, but Adobe still keeps giving me the error message "Connect to the Internet, then click Continue." Getting really annoying.

I'm on a Mac OSX Yosemite v. 10.10.5 I have Verizon FiOS for a WiFi service provider. Also, CS5.5 Dreamweaver is up to date, so I don't know why it won't recognize my internet connection and just deactivate. Very frustrating. Someone please help. Any recommendations? Things to try?

WiFi instead of wired has caused problems for other people, I think (I don't work for Adobe) due to the "signal latency" from computer to modem
