Please Help. Cant seem to install photoshop or lightroom on my Mac

I have downloaded the installation app for Photoshop and Lightroom which I have paid for as well. I double click on the download which has now become a icon on my desktop "photoshop installer". When I click on that it says I must double click on the icon and follow the instructions but when I double click on the app nothing happens.

Yes I have and then I cant get to number 3 as nothing follows after I double click the installation
