Pop up verifying window [on Catalina]

I've just updated my MacBook to Catalina and then updated my adobe programs. Since doing so a window pops up whenever I try to open a program that says, for example 'Veryfying "Adobe Photoshop 2020" along with a loading bar. It loads for a long time (20+ minutes) until complete but the program doesn't open at the end and this cycle continues. Any ideas on why this is?

Thank you. After hours of waiting they suddenly started to work but I'll take a look at these anyway incase anything happens again

It seems a Catalina problem affecting various apps, even Apple’s own. See eg https://appletoolbox.com/why-is-macos-catalina-verifying-applications-before-i-can-open-them/
