I had to use the chat line to Adobe. They took remote control of my Mac and fixed the problem. They were very helpful.

    Could be more specific?

For example, you've downloaded. Then what?

    Thank you for the email.

In September 2015 I bought Lightroom 6 from the Adobe site as a download. I run a Mac and the file was a .dmg file.

I installed it on the Mac and it ran fine till last week when it would not open and an error message came up (error 16) and it asked me to delete the software and re-install it. I deleted the software usining the uninstall programme. I then tried to re install from the .dmg file.

The installer opens, and a screen opens saying initialising installer. The bar get to the end and the screen closes leaving an adobe icon on the dock bar. The icon is PDApp. Then nothing else happens.

My computer has no antivirus software or firewall running.

My user permissions allow me to read and write.

    Hope this is more helpful.

    Geoff,

Hopefully, linked document will help Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud

In your case you need to follow the Mac specific instructions.

Hopefully, this solves the problem for you

    Edit:

The two folders mentioned in document are found in Library>Application Support>Adobe (i.e. the root Library not the User Library)
