Problem running Trial Version of illustrator CS6.

Very long startup time, 3 or more minutes. Half the time it would just hang, and I would have to force quit. My old Illustrator Version CS works great starts in 10 seconds. New Version worked fine if I could get it to load? I need to upgrade my old version, its CS and won't work if I update my OSX. All I need is a Intel version.

I'm retired, and only use Illustrator once in a while. Make direction maps, and other info for my Astronomy Clubs out reach programs. Star Partys for Middle Schools. Was thinking about getting Ver CS5, but will it work? And ifI have a problem will I be stuck with CS5?
