Problems installing CS Design Premium 5.5 on older Mac System 10.6.8

HELP needed PLEEEASE -- UNABLE to INSTALL on a 2008 Mac G5 Pro – using my CS Design Premium 5.5 -- Photoshop seems to work OK, all other programs fail with a 'crash dump'.

ONLY have 4GB RAM -- I've cleaned the 10.6.8 (w. OnyX -- the highest system I can use) on this vintage unit -- COULD it be TOO Little RAM. Installed a friend's CS4 DP package -- works well on this Mac.

Hi Douglash35163085,

AS you have mentioned you are unable to use Adobe CS5.5 Design premium products on your Mac 10.6.8 as they crash on launch.

All the minimum system requirements for CS5.5 are given here: System requirements for Adobe Design Premium , please check and confirm that they are met.

Also I would recommend you to try downloading the products from here to install: Download Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 products

If it still fails then please attach a screen shot of the error screen or attach the crash report here, see: FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?

Hello BV,

thanks for you speedy response. My problem has got worse. I have used/misused Onyx and now my 10.6.8 MacPro will not boot. No desktop display and can't get to the disk drives with a 'disk I burned' with a system as above on my PC -- I believe I was able to extract the Mac DMG format.

I''m willing to open the unit and maybe remove my start-up HD, and find someone to re-format this HD. Is this possible and practical?

I have an even older G4 with 10.4 max -- can this be used to help in any way. Any suggestions please . . .
