Problems with Creative Cloud (apps not starting)

Hi,

I have 2 major issues with CC. I am on mac Osx Lion (10.7.5)

1) Illustrator CC doesn't start anymore. It worked perfectly until yesterday. When I turned on my workstation today and tried to run the application, it hangs on the splash screen on "initializing".

Tried to delete preferences folder, reboot, repair permissions etc... nothing.

Then I thought, maybe I can try to reinstall..and here comes problem

2) Creative Cloud app doesn't start anymore. Until yesterday it started at startup, but after some time disappeared from the top bar. Checking in activity monitor the app is running, but I can't see/access it anywhere. Now, even if I try to manually start the app, nothing is happening (in activity monitor the app is displayed as "running").

Adobe support told me to call later because dedicated application support is needed and now they are not available, I think here I can find better help.

Thanks.

Edit: CC app will start, but not always. On the last 4 reboots it started at login just 1 time.

Thanks,

but no Antivirus, no Firewall are active.

I just found another thread that explained where the prefs file are in osx (user/library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 17), I deleted and restarted. Now Illustrator starts but takes a couple of minutes, and runs only if no other adobe app is started before Illustrator CC.

Seems that deleting the preference folder (in osx it's in "user/library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings") got me back on track.
Now Illustrator is launching correctly. I did also a system cleanup (permissions, caches etc...) and rebooted.

Creative cloud desktop is working correctly after reinstalling.

Another p**-poor release from Adobe, from data breaches to poor forced software updates.  This thread ought to be investigated by the senior management team

Had almost identical problems to OP -- use every day, woke up yesterday, Illustrator wouldn't load, "Application Not Responding" after minutes in splash screen, every time. Creative Cloud would freeeze for 20 minutes at a time, even updating the software didn't work.

Removed the preferences folders and it fired right up.

Hey Adobe! Screw you. I've used Adobe for 15 years, and now you force me to pay more for your "Cloud" programs that crash weekly, at a minimum.

I think Adobe has a major problem with Creative cloud and that might explain why its share price has dropped!

I have had to call support 3 times to fix this problem on my desk top. I then fixed it the fourth time myself.

Now the same issue has arrsen on my laptop!!

If Adobe does not fix this and stop just saying use Creative Cloud Cleaner (the program should be clean in the first place!!) it will continue to bleed users and hence its share price.

I agree with others that this is stopping professionals from doing their job.

Adobe CC did not have this problem when i first subsribed over a year ago. maybe it is rolling out too many updates without fixing the major problem with Creative Cloud.

I'm starting to despair. Reading posts from people with the same issue as me from 2014! Clearly not much has changed.

I'm having trouble getting my Photoshop to open. I believe its because it is half way installing an update (which there are too many of). However, I can not continue it as Creative Cloud Apps keeps having that Loading 'death wheel' that forever turns. The rest of my applications work fine and am able to open them.

I've tried numerous of 'trouble solvers' without any effect. Anybody have any good ideas that might help me? D:

I'm wasting precious time. I feel that I would be better off going to my university and completing my assessments there instead.

I updated muse using the cc, got an error at 42%, wasn't able to install. unistalled, tried again. error message. Adobe support took over my computer, said there is an issue with the .net 4.5.2 installing. contact Microsoft....YEA, RIGHT. I contacted mycompanies help desk. They did many of the same things because now, I can't get Illustrator to work. It says it's downloaded from the CC, but it won't launch, get a sysfer.ll error. Contacted Adobe again....they won't do anything.

my help desk is baffled, said I may have to ship my computer to them to reimage. I have spent 4 days trying to get this fixed....it started with an adobe update. I will not update again. I'm starting to miss the CDs.

Anyone else having issues? I'm reading there are.

I'm having the same issues.  And you cannot reach any help at Adobe.  It's like they don't really exist.

So disappointing!

This fixed my Creative Cloud app freezing issue:

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Download link for Adobe Cleaner Tool:

Hope this helps others!

I'm still having the same issue. I had to reload my OS - Windows 7- and when I installed CC everything worked well including installing apps but when I try to launch any of them, they all do this. I'm completely flabergasted and really frustrated. Any help would be fantastic.

I suddenly started having trouble a couple of weeks ago.  In my case, the problem was with the master Creative Cloud ap.  Individual Adobe suite program (Muse) would open and function, but CC would not, so I could not update the individual suite program(s) or log-in to my adobe account or publish anything.  Upon launching or starting computer, I just got a message that said "CC has stopped working."   I found a solution, though.  Hopefully this will help others:

Windows 7 user, here.   Oddly, I was not even able to uninstall or change the CC program using the control panel program management tool (which is kind of scary, but a separate issue I'll have to explore later.)   I ended up simply re-downloading a new Creative Cloud installation file from the adobe site, and re-installing.  Seems to have fixed everything!

Reinstalling  creative cloud and using Adobe creative cloud cleaner did not solve the problem ...at the end I uninstalled also Adobe Acrobat DC and then tryed to install adobe creative cloud once more toghether with free illustrator and then it worked..
