Problems with updating DW CS5 using Adobe Updater App

I have installed Adobe DW CS5 and it installed fine however, I had issues when it asked me to update the applications I got the following error message

"

Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.

  Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."

Now I have tried rebooting, closing and opening the updated more then once. I eventually got tired of the repeated failures and clicked the link that said "Click here for support"

This took me to this page Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | CS6, CS5.5, CS5

Now I am not a software engineer but to me this page looks to be irrelivant to my issue, this also only seemed to be confimed when i contacted Adobe via chat and they confirmed the Serial # I had should be able to be update capable.

I was then prompted to come here as apparently the chat staff is not able to help with anything but "Customer Care" which seems ironic because I am a customer and they did everything but take care of my issue.

Can someone (preferably an Adobe Expert as the chat tech said I needed their help) please help me through this issue?

If the soultion is to upgrade to CC then that is not going to happen. I am of the old school frame of mind where if I shell out 599 (or what ever the price for a year of one app is) that I should then have unlimited use of the software not pay another 599 the next year.

Thanks,

Andrew Jamison

Now I tried this kglad (thanks by the way for your advice) and thought it worked however I just now recieved another notification saying updates were avalible and got the same issue with the same updates.

So to sum up, Installing said updates manually and rebooting the computer produced no results I get the same errors and am still prompted to update to the same updates i just manually updated to.

open one of the manually 'updated' programs > click help > click about and note the program version.

is this program updated?
