Question

PS CS6 13.0/64 standalone product (NOT CC, NOT Creative Suite!!)

I use a Macbook Pro, High Sierra/10.13.6. I keep it this way because I choose to keep my standalone version, hence cannot upgrade my Mac. I have had no compatability issues for many, many years (and still don't, I hope). However, within the last month, when I open Photoshop, I get a boxed message that states, "Adobe APplication Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged. Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager". However, the box also contains an "OK" box, which when I click on that, allows me to proceed with using PS. Clicking ok DOES work!! But trying to download "a new version... of AAM" does NOT work. Why has this suddenly started happening??

I also have LR5 standalone and Bridge CS6. Each of these work fine and open up withOUT any warning message, so what gives? Do I need to keep AAM at all? If I delete it, will this warning message go away? Bottom line, everything has been working just fine for years and year, so how do I stop this warning message from popping up?

Continue to do that rather than risking not being able to use it at all if you try a fix.

Photoshop CS6 is Creative Suite 6.  It is discontinued & unsupported.

    1. Suggest you run the Adobe Cleaner Tool to wipe old Photoshop off your system.

    2. Restart your computer.

    3. Reinstall PS from the disks you received at purchase.  NOTE:  You will need the terminal workaround below to install on Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave.

    Hope that helps.

Nancy, CS6 means means both. That’s the HUGE confusion with Photoshop users, old and new! My standalone version states CS6 (upgraded years ago from CS5). I realize it’s discontinued, but I though at least there would be support by someone. That’s depressing and frustrating.

I don’t WANT to wipe off my old version. I fear if I do that, I’ll never get it back ESPECIALLY since I will get ZERO support from Adobe should something go wrong. The whole point of my query was because I wish to keep it. I was simply hoping someone could provide an answer to the question about the pop up warning.

    Thanks anyway.

Support lasts (typically) five years from release by Adobe. They expect all customers to have upgraded twice by then... CS always stood for Creative Suite by the way, both the single product names and the actual suite collecting them. Anyway, has more to do with suites than Creative Cloud has to do with clouds...
