PSE10 won't start

I just installed Photoshop Elements 10 for the 2nd time.  When I first turn on the computer, or first sign into my user name the organizer appears to start fine.  After closing the program, it will not start again until I have logged out and logged back in. I have tried uninstalling once and then reinstalling.....same thing.

Also, when I uninstall it says I should deactivate the serial number but doesn't say how.  How do I deactivate or do I even have to if I am going to reinstall on the same computer?

Also, when I try to install the upgrade for camera raw, it goes well until the end.  It tells me to close ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe, PSE10.0.exe and PSEorganizer.exe.  None of these are open!  They are not in the task manager and don't appear open in any way.

There is a PSE 8 on the computer if that matters.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

Can anyone help?

Vicki

Gautham,

No error message but just wouldn't open a 2nd time or could not bring up welcome screen by clicking on the house on the right top of the screen.  Got another message advising to delete the original shortcut that was set up by the settings in the original installation of the welcome screen (it supposedly created some sort of zombie thing that wouldn't let it work or close right).  Then I went into windows explorer programs and found the .exe line for editor and created a short cut off that. It works like a champ now and the clicking on the house gets the welcome screen again and no more hang ups.  Too bad Adobe couldn't get it to work that way in the 1st place.

Did support resolve your issue? I'm having a similar problem and it's very frustrating!

Hi 52Francie,

Are you receiving the same error message as mentioned above when you try to launch Photoshop elements?
