PSE11 not usable

PSE 11 downloaded OK, but after extraction Install Shield Wizard appears & wants to uninstall.  Many tries have been futile.  Help!

    Yes, but I get a long list of PSE 11 elements.  Tried "Editor" but got only blank screens.  I can't figure what else to select from that list.  I would dearly like to use a shortcut to get to PSE11


    Did you receive any error messages at all when you are trying to install?  Please try removing the software from Programs and Features and then reinstall from your installation media again.  If you still do not see any error messages then please complete the steps listed in Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html to review your installation log.

    It sounds like you are running the installer over and over again.  Which operating system are you using?  Have you tried going to Start>All Programs and opening the software from there?

    Tried that.  It says can't find PSE11.

    Well which operating system are you using?  It is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
