Question about downloading CS6 software to new mac laptop

I'm going to purchase an Apple laptop. I currently own (non-cloud) Adobe CS6. I'd like to download my CS6 from the Adobe website. Is it as easy as accessing my CS6 via Adobe website and downloading? Do I need previous versions of CS in order for CS6 to work?

I'm in a time crunch and don't really have time to leave my computer at Apple store for a few days for them to do it.

    Yes you follow the link: Download CS6 products to download your CS6 products and you do not need your previous CS products for the download.

    One more question...Is CS6 compatible with the newest Operating Systems? I am currently running 10.6.8.
