question about updates and desktop

Good morning! I am in the "early learner" phase of Ps and all of the other apps, so am not sure what to do.  Each time there is an app update, the new version adds itself on, but the old version is still there.  Can I go in an uninstall the older versions?  My desktop looks much more impressive that it needs to, given all the versions of EACH app that are there!

    I am definitely Lost & I purchased myself a new laptop 12-24-17 and even purchased additional service & then got overwhelmed and put it back in the original box and put it in the closet until 10-20-19 just shy of the added services to expire! Merry Christmas 🎄 Everyone
