Question - Error: 16 - Adobe Photoshop CS6

I use an apple mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 and over the last 5 days had difficulty getting into the above app (purchased in March 2015).  Yesterday I rebooted and amazingly got back into CS6.  About an hour ago, I'm now unable to gain access which then follows a message stating to uninstall and reinstall, Error: 16.  Can anyone help resolve this issue and also why one minute I can gain access and then next the above message repeats again.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  thank you

Hi Ned

Thanks for the prompt reply, very useful.  All permissions already set up as per your link.  At this very moment, amazingly I can actually get into CS6.  Not sure if I'll be able to open CS6 again tomorrow.  Hopefully, I'll be able to carry on with my project.  Thanks again.
