Re: Acrobat Pro and the newest MacOs Catalina update

I have recently learned that Adobe is no longer supporting Acrobat Pro on MacOS Catalina. I was told that I could either pay for the upgrade--those of you who paid for the Pro know how cosly that program was--or revert my computer to an older version and never upgrade. This seems ridiculous to me. How come Adobe doesn't service their programs like Pro? Why can't they offer a similar product at no cost?

Help!!!

Which version of Acrobat do you have?

Acrobat Reader is free

Acrobat 2017 or 2019 will run on Catalina.  But there are a few known issues you should be aware of.

Acrobat Standard costs $12.99/month for a 1 year subscription.  Acrobat Pro DC is $14.99/month.

That just isn't true. Adobe is supporting Acrobat Pro DC and 2017 on Catalina. They specifically did a lot of work to service Acrobat Pro for this purpose.  If you mean they don't support old, end of life software, sure. Expensive work to support new systems has to be paid for, otherwise Adobe would be subsidising Apple, which would be outrageous...

Adobe (and other companies like Microsoft) work on current programs, not old programs... even Apple's own 32bit programs will not work on Catalina

The perfectly good MS Office 97 I owned stopped working (would not even install) when I moved from a WinXP computer to a Win7 computer... Microsoft had TOTAL control over their own products (unlike here, where Adobe has NO control over Apple's operating system) and I was forced to buy MS Office again to be able to use it... So if you want to blame someone for your program not working, contact Apple
