Re: CS6 not genuine software?
This happened to me too. When I bought my upgrade from CS5to CS6 from the Software Tech Company, I confirmed with Adobe that Software Tech was an authorized reseller and was listed on Adobe's site. So I proceded. Around 2016 I had a hard disk crash, and couldn't deactivate, so called Adobe. They checked my records, found I was listed as a licensed owner of CS6, reset the activations and I was able to reinstall with a genuine download direct from Adobe. Much later Adobe said my software was "not authentic", was "not authorized" and my "serial number and Key code had been deactivated". They said I could still use my CS5, but not CS6. We had a long fight, but the only option was to force me on the CC subscription which I refused. They threatened to actually interfere with my computer to deactivate the software. I pointed out that it was genuine, was purchased from their approved vendor, and used to be on my owned license list, but they had removed it. The notices were full of false statements. The only issue was that Software Tech had actually delivered a softway key for a volume user account in violation of the Adobe software license. So Adobe's position was thay I had not paid Adobe for the upgrade. But, Adobe also failed to disclose that they had sued Software Tech in 2014 and 2015, and won. Adobe's claim included payment for all the CS6 upgrade licenses Software Tech sold, so when they won, the court ordered Software Tech to pay Adobe many millions of dollars. That payment settled the lost revenue to Adobe that people like me who had paid to Software Tech that had not been properly paid to Adobe. So, it turns out as I just learned December 26, 2022, that Adobe did in fact, as part of that law suit, receive the upgrade fee I paid Software Tech for my updrade to version of authentic CS6. In my opinion Adobe owes me a valid key and serial number for CS6, and should reinstate my license. I relied on Adobe's list of authorized sellers as recommended, I did nothing wrong, Adobe listed my CS6 as authentic and even reinstated my activations for me based on that, and then Adobe discovered its issue with Software Tech, belatedly, and deactivated my software, sued Software Tech, and Adobe was made whole. So now, I am now the victim of both Software Tech and Adobe's reckless action and double dipping.
