Hi there, I get the same error:

Adobe Illustrator CS3 - Component install failed

but there is no details of what component, any solution for this?

    Cco65784158, what is causing you to reinstall Illustrator CS3?  Did something happen to the previous installation?  Which operating system are you installing Illustrator CS3 on?   Can you please list what steps you have taken to resolve the component install failure?
