Re-installing PS CS4 from "upgrade" disc

I recently had to do a clean reinstall of my OS (Windows XP Pro SP3), which of course also wiped everything on my system drive (data is stored on separate drives). I spent the entire weekend carefully installing and updating system files, programs and drivers, and am now reinstalling primary applications. Of these, the one I use most is Photoshop CS4, but the installation disk is an upgrade version (PHOTOSHOP UPG is printed above the serial number) that I bought several years ago to replace Photoshop CS2. Now that Adobe has stopped supporting all CS2 applications (meaning that my PS CS2 serial number is now invalid and the installation disk thus unusable), will I still be able to install PS CS4 from my upgrade disk? Surely there must  be a way to do this.

Hi tobymarx,

You can install the upgrade for Photoshop CS4, serial number for the CS2 you have will work as Adobe has turned off the activation server which means the serial number are still good for installation.
