This has happened to me with a couple trials on several apps. I went through the suggestions  from the trial explanation link here Understand why Adobe trial software expires or ends early and it was no help. Very frustrating. I had just finished a couple new AE tutorials right after launching and it said 7 days. then before the day was over it said it was expired.

As you mentioned that the trial expired within a day, did you use trial before for the same app?

If you have used the trial before with the same ID or on the same machine, unfortunately, it would not work now.
