Re: update CC 2015

For starters, the CC 2015 update for InDesign pretty much overwrites everything! After updating, I was surprised to find the Fonts-folder completely empty. I now have to find out which webshop I bought the fonts from, hope I can still remember login-credentials, re-download and install the fonts.

Could you please, please, PLEASE make sure to at least prompt before overwriting files? This update just wasted at least 2-3 hours of my time. Time I cannot in any way invoice to anyone. Sheeesh!

Correct answer Niebe

It installed via Creative Cloud and without any errors. I believe some of the answer is, that I should have checked some box in some settings-dialog to prevent the deletion of the folders under CC14 etc. However, my request was primarily that the "update" (which in essence means that _existing_ stuff is _updated_) was actually not an "update" but in fact a de-install and new install. This info should be far more obvious than it was.

I managed to redownload the fonts from the shop and I'm up and running again. It's just extremely frustrating to waste time on something that could quite easily be avoided, had the update process been more thought through.

Niebe I am sorry you faced a difficult experience with your installation.  Did InDesign CC 2015 install successfully or did you receive a download or installation related error?
