I was directed by Adobe.com support to redownload CS4 Design Premium. It appear to download, however there are no visible applications and I see no way to install. Can you help?

This computer is a few years old. I did transfer files from my previous computer to this one when I bought it. When the hard drive recently crashed, my data was recovered and put on an external drive. Only a very few select items have been brought into my computer since then, ie. my fonts and a job I was working on at the time of the crash. They appear to work fine now.

When I called Adobe to get the CS4 download, they were able to find my serial number (as am I), however the message was they no longer support this version of the software. They directed me to a site to redownload the suite.

Is this helpful info?

Ok Nancy if you are receiving a message that the serial number is invalid then I would recommend completing the following steps:

  1. Run any available Adobe uninstallers listed in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
  2. Run the CS Cleaner Tool - CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

You should then be able to reinstall CS4 successfully with your serial number accepted.  It is likely you are facing a file permission issue with your old files which is preventing the serial number from being acceptd.
