Reinstall Photoshop Elements 9 After Windows Crash

Fortunately I was able to save data; but after a crash about two weeks ago I had to reinstall Windows 7 64-Bit.  I was not doing anything unusual at the time, just doing one Microsoft "important" update after which I ran my antivirus.  I have to reinstall my applications.  Photoshop Elements 9 reinstalled fine; but it will not install the available updates of which there are two.  The program is probably in the same state it was when I bought it.  Anyway, I did not have this problem before the crash.  Then, at this time my system is now quirky.  On another site I could neither login nor send webmail.  What could be wrong with my installation?

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

I should also add that there was no supplemental log.

Troothteller, I am sorry but there are no applicable errors in the log.  Is Photoshop Elements 9 functional?  What feature are you missing by not applying the update?

Since posting last I edited a couple of image files, an event flier and a photo.  Though I have not figured out how to edit the boarder around a person's photo so it aligns with the contour of his face, I did not have much trouble.  The updater appeared several times since.  I just tried it again; and I am still getting "There was an error downloading this update.  Please quit and try again later."  Now that a day has passed I went to the download site that someone provided at the beginning of this thread.  The 9.0.3 Elements update applied successfully.  Camera Raw 6.5 just completed even though I have no camera to sync with it.  I will now open the program to see what happens.  The updater says, "Applications are up to date."  These emails open up in SeaMonkey, both a default email client and a browser.  I used Firefox for this task.  The updater within the program shows the same message.  So, after all these weeks I finally have the updates downloaded and installed.  Thanks to all in this forum.Reinstall Photoshop Elements 9 After Windows Crash

I unzipped the Main Installation Log.  It looks too long to post here; but there was no occurrence of the word "fatal."  Here are the occurrences of the word "error":

Property(S): ErrorDialog = SetupError

Property(S): ErrorDialog = SetupError

Property(S): ErrorDialog = SetupError

Property(S): ErrorDialog = SetupError

Four occurrences of the SetupError (my comment).

Participants, forgive me for neglecting to respond to this forum.  The store that did the Windows 7 reinstallation did a hack job where much does not work, probably desiring that I get a new computer.  You know how Mozilla programs all have Profiles?  Well, those files behave as though they are corrupted; so I have to go directly to sites where I have accounts and access my email that way, like my ISP.  My Nero programs show possible corruption too.  I just located the PDapp log for starters.  Here it is:

Troothteller, do you receive any specific errors when applying the Photoshop Elements 9 on Windows 7?  I know facing these errors can be difficult. Which specific update are you attempting to apply?

The link did not work.  My browser does not show that they downloaded.  The updates are Elements 9.0.3 and Camera Raw 6.5.  There is the error message for each one, "There was an error installing this update.  Please quit and try again.  Forgive me for taking too long to respond.  Reconfiguring my network hardware is taking up much time.

the cr download works for me at the message 1 link but there is no 9.0.3 update at that link.  you should try a different browser

you get the 9.0.3 link at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/  i don't know if that includes the cr update and you may need to update to 9.0.1 first.
