Reinstalling not working (CC + apps)

Hello,

 

My Adobe apps stopped launching, so I tried the good old delete and reinstall. However the installing programs don't launch. I've tried to troubleshoot and fix it with the help of previous community posts. Like using repair and cleaner etc. that I found through Google.

 

The issues are with windows 10 and are only with Adobe apps. Can anyone help?

If any new suggestions, please throw those at me 🙂 Right now the next try will be reseting my PC.

 

I'll use my small laptop for the next days using functioning version of Illustrator and then check this thread again.

there's surprisingly little downside to resetting a computer.  you do lose all data/resource files added /created since the reset date, but that's a good reason to back those up which is something we should all do periodically (but usually don't).  and a large external hard drive is inexpensive and good to have for incremental backups in the future.

Yep exactly. I have used an external hard drive to create backups. I'll copy everything again as a backup and reset the whole computer as I belive I installed Adobe CC and apps the first time over 5 years ago and I think my earliest backup will have Adobe files.

 

I mean I will put everything to the hard drive just in case. I don't think I need all of the files that I have during the past 5 years so I'll try to delete things beforehand to the black hole.

i'm not sure what error you're seeing, but a factory reset of your computer is an option no matter what error you're seeing.

 

but if you want to try a less drastic solution, exactly what error are you seeing when using the cc desktop app to uninstall?

 

and what is still installed after you used the cleaner?

I'm so slow with responding as I'm trying to get things done on my tiny laptop... 😄

 

The error says (trying to translate this as well as I can) "Creative Cloud -desktop installiation is deleted, but there were errors". No codes or anything.

 

No Adobe apps are installed after Cleaner.

 

All leftover files I can find rn are 3 psd. files, empty folders for app versions 2021 to 2024.  For example InDesing 2021 -> plug-ins (the only existing thing under that). And nothing in there. I can see some Premiere Pro created files, like "previews", "autosave" and couple audio or video previews, latest from 2021. 

 

Newer ones, Adobe Creative Cloud Experience. Under that folders: js, libs, Recources and CCX process. Dated on February this year.

 

I know that at least in January everything was working fine. Everything else has been a blur as I'm not proactive at all.

I know it's been a month, but I'm having a larger work coming at me so I would prefer to use my PC instead of laptop.

 

I get error messages when trying to uninstall spesific apps. Like photoshop, illustrator, CC. Now I just wish that anything would launch or get deleted without error. I'm just stuck.

Please I'm ready for a big red button to delete everything. I'm also thinking of  factory resetting my computer as nothing seems to help. The issue is only with Adobe.

So right now are you saying you have run an uninstall/reinstall, and then the cleaner. You were then able to reinstall successfully, but they are still not launching?

 

Is your OS up to date? Are you able to try using another user account on the computer to see if the issue is isolated to a particular user account on your computer?

I wasn't able to reinstall. The download file didn't launch. After that I tried to clean. OS is up to date but I can try to make another account and see what happens.

did you uninstall prior to using the cleaner?  ie,  did you

 

uninstall every cc app, including preferences, per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

 

then did you


clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

did you properly uninstall using the cc desktop app, or did you actually delete files?

CC wasn't working so I usead the CC cleaner tool.
