Reinstalling Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8.1

I am currently trying to install Photoshop CS5 on my new computer (with Windows 8.1).  I had previously had this same copy on a computer with Windows 7 and it completely died on me.

This is the message I received the most recent time I have tried to install it (with a disc).  It is a student version as well if that helps.  Is there anything I can do to make this work.
