remove old programs

Once I have updated the programs like lightroom and photoshop is it safe to uninstall the older versions of these programs

yes, as long as you've confirmed you're ok with plugins, printers, tablets and other peripherals you use.

 

ie, new versions work independent of older versions.  the only reason to keep older versions is for compatibility issues that might occur with older peripherals and new versions.
