Renewing/extending existing annual CC Photography subscription with B&H promo offer

I received a prepaid yearlong subscription to CC Photography from B&H with a recent purchase. I already have an annual prepaid subscription to CC Photography that is set to expire next month. After about an hour and a half of chatting with two Customer Care representatives, it seems that I cannot use the B&H promo to cover the next year of my subscription--or at least not without running the risk of losing my entire lightroom catalog. Has anyone else encountered this situation? I'd really just like to use the B&H promo to extend my existing subscription for another year.
