Repair Activation doesn't work via Akamai. Applications are gone.

I suddenly received an error message that I need to re-activate my software (CS3). I went to Adobe.com, received a new serial number, deinstalled CS3 as instructed, then downloaded and installed Akamai. During installation of Akamai, the new serial number was not required and installation was supposedly successful. But now all my programs (CS3) are gone!!!!! Reinstalling from the original disc produces the same error message.

It was CS3. But I uninstalled it as it was described in the Akamai instructions.

Ok Sylvia please complete the following steps to reinstall Creative Suite 3.

  1. Run any available uninstallers from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
  2. Download and run the CC Cleaner Tool - Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
  3. Remove the cache.db file - Resolve "temporary activation expired" error for CS3 and Acrobat 8

Once you complete these three steps you will be in a good position to reinstall Creative Suite 3.  If you continue to receive errors that the Setup cannot continue then please review the installation logs for any relevant error messages.  Information on how to locate the installation logs can be found at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | Adobe Creative Suite 3, Adobe Creative Suite 4​.

I need help!~  willing to pay $ for help..

i have original adobe cs3 masters collection on cd

Im using windows 10

adobe has instructed for cs3 - the cloud software will not work! so they gave me files to download...

i downloaded files form adobe online as instructed - & it simply does not install or work!

It should install in older versions of Windows. Some people have been lucky in Windows 10, it's a long shot.

Still, please tell us EXACTLY what happens, with any messages, when you try to install - you say it does not install, so it certainly won't work if you haven't installed it.

i get 2 errors when opening the 3 downloaded files...

Sylviac34285715 did you complete the installation process for Creative Suite 3?  What happens after you reinstall Creative Suite 3?

Sylvia thanks for the update.  It looks like you are facing an installation failure when reinstalling Creative Suite 3.  What Adobe software is currently installed on this computer?  What version of Mac OS are you installing on?
