Hi MuttnVair,

Which software updates are you trying to install and on what OS?

Have you tried downloading the updates manually and install it from : http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html

Rave:

These are (as they still haven't completed) for the CC versions of Illustrator, Flash Professional and SpeedGrade. The updates come through my CC Desktop.

I have two units, one a Toshiba Notebook with Windows 8.1 which handles these just fine. The issue is on my HP Desktop with Windows 7, which is current in its OS updates.

I don't have a particulary fast internet connection at home where the HP lives (although it is connected to the modem/router via Cat 6 cable). I get high error rates for any CC update, including most infuriatingly for the Desktop, which must be active to keep my fonts turned on. It took four tries for the Desktop to update last time.

I haven't tried any workarounds, yet (The idea was that we weren't supposed to need them.). That will have to wait until I get back home.

I'll update after I try the workaround.
