Replacing Elements 8 with Elements 10

I am trying to remove Elements 8 from my computer bfore I install Elements 10.  The procees keeps getting interrupted and I cannot complete the removal of Elements 8.

    Error 1316 is an irritating installation error. It pops up when a software is being installed, uninstalled or repaired on your computer.You may get the following description while seeing this error: Error 1316:

    "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: :\Install.msi"

    Follow the following guidelines to fix this error:

        1. Use Windows Installer Clean Up

        2. Use a Registry Fixing Utility

        3. Change Windows Installer Registry Information

        4. Check the Security Details of the Concerning File

    Do you receive an error message?  Which operating system are you using?  What have you tried so far to resolve your difficulties?

    I am getting Error 1316. I have Windows 7.  I have only retried to uninstall, with no luck/same message.

    It seems like your registry is having difficulties locating the installer files.  Did you use a registry cleaner at some point?  If so did you do a backup of your registry prior to it's use?

    You might also try running the installer from the Photoshop Elements 8 installation media.  It might have better success with the removal.
