Restore LR5 from backup to new computer

Question

I purchased a new computer and need to restore LR5 from my backup.  Is there a documented process that I can follow?  Since I have LR5, I will need to install all the updates (i.e. 5.3) and then restore my LR catalog

do NOT restore adobe programs including lr5. they should be properly installed.
