Retrieving Preferences / Workspaces from Previous App Installs

Question

I recently upgraded my iMac hard drive. I decided to do a fresh install of MacOS as well as Creative Cloud and all the apps I use (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, etc). All of my keyboard shortcuts and workspaces are no longer available. I was wondering if there's a way to retrieve the preferences files from my previous apps. The Mac technician backedup my old hard drive on an external drive, so maybe the preferences files are in there somewhere? It would be nice if these files were stored in the Adobe Creative Cloud account so you could access them and load them anytime.

On a mac, you could check to see if there was a prefs folder stored with the application.

The only other way would be to sync your prefs with creativecloud.

When updating, you might be asked to restore your previous preferences, but if you did a clean install of everything, chances are that you wiped the prefs folder with it.
