Robbery [old programs won't install on new computer]

I find it insane that I have purchased 2 Master Collections and one Design Collection and now that I have gotten a new computer, Adobe wants me to pay for Acrobat Pro monthly instead of allowing me to download and install.  When I want to contact Adobe, I get this platform.  Seriously.  Almost $10k wasn't enough $ that I can't redownload any of the Master Collections.  It is all a monthly rip off session now.  WTH!!  Wow..just wow.

Also, if you don't have a drive to use a disc, go to kglad links in reply #1 here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2509712 to download program installers

I apologize guys and Adobe.  Guys you have been a big help.  That download link now seems to be working.  I had to do it a couple of times, but it is installing ATM.  I may have overreacted, so I apologize Adobe and all.

Why can't you re-download your purchased software and reinstall using your serial number? You can do so at any time provided you're running supported hardware and a compatible operating system. You will be asked to re-enter your serial number.

Which operating system are you running? Which version of Adobe software do you have?

I am trying the link you sent.  I do not have a disc drive on this new computer.  It is windows 10 with with i5 and amd graphics and 500g ssd.  It should be able to handle the collection.  I have the Master Collection, CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and the design collection CS5.5.  So far it is not letting me reinstall on this computer per the download links you guys have suggested.  But if it does and allows me to re-enter my serial numbers, etc.  I will post and take this down.  But so far, its a no go.

Thanks. I am trying that, but still seem to get an error. Have you been able to redownload the master collections on windows 10?

New operating systems are not compatible with old programs... which is not Adobe's fault... if you want to use old programs, you need to use the operating system that was current at that time... which, for CS6, was back in 2012

You don't describe your computer, so notes for both Mac and Windows'

CS6 and earlier programs HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED AND WILL NOT BE UPDATED for Mac El Capitan or newer operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or newer operating systems

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility

--READ HERE https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2301916 for an Adobe solution to installing old programs, including a link to installing the old Java runtime that is required

--Also read for more information https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2458382

--and https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/install-or-run-applications-new.html

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions, substituting the name and location of your specific program for Encore

I understand what you are saying.  I did post my computer specs further down the feed(sorry).  I realize you feel it is not adobe's fault, and I only partially agree.  I think if you spend the $5k per product on the Master Collections, they should continue updating the product to work on new systems you choose to run it on.  Obviously computers will come out with new versions of their operating systems all the time, and people will get rid of slower more obsolete computers at their pace to update, which is what I did.  Adobe is obviously following suit with the likes of Microsoft and others creating and putting a product out there to charge people a monthly fee.  I get it, can't beat them, join them.  But I also think they should keep their older products that you pay a lot of money for up to date to be able to run on the newer systems.  Just my opinion, but lesson learned.

>should continue updating the product to work on new systems

There may be a vendor that updates old programs to work on new systems, but I don't know of any

And FYI... Microsoft did the same thing, and all under their own control... The perfectly good MS Office 97 I owned stopped working (would not even install) when I moved from a WinXP computer to a Win7 computer... Microsoft had TOTAL control over their own products (unlike here, where Adobe has NO control over any operating system) and I was forced to buy MS Office again to be able to use it
