Running Adobe CC on Parallel Desktop (or any other emulator)

Due to existing workflows, it is essential for me to be able to run Adobe CC in a windows environment. I have the latest MacBook Pro. Tried Parallel Desktops with Windows 11, but Photoshop reports an error, Illustrator and InDesign don't even come up on my list of Apps that can be installed. Does anyone know of  a solution?

Adobe products are not tested on exotic virtual machine set-ups.  Sorry.  The simplest solution is to use Mac software on your Mac OS or get a compatible PC that meets the system requirements.

 

Most Creative Cloud apps work on these systems with latest updates:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit), Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2, 21H1;
  • MacOS 14 (Sonoma), 13 (Ventura), 12 (Monterey), macOS 11 (Big Sur).

The latest MacBook Pro uses an Apple Silicon processor, not Intel. I trust you've seen this link?

You really don't want to do this, You would be running a virtualized OS and then using emulation inside Windows. You'll likely have huge problems with graphics support and general performance.

Most Photoshop workflows are cross-platform and do not have to run on only one or the other. If you absolutely MUST run Photoshop on Windows, get a Windows-based desktop. A new machine with 32GB of RAM, an nVidia RTX card, and SSD should run in the US$1500-2000 range and will be plenty powerful for your needs.

Do other CC apps work?

Is there enough available RAM and hard drive space?

Hi! Only Acrobat. Managed to install photoshop, but on opening I was greeted with a message complainning about compatibility. there was one another (possibly premiere), but I doidn't bother with it after Photoshop failed. Bridge might work, but not a priority.

i can say others have been able install and use adobe's apps in multiple environments, but cannot say what settings are causing your problems.  i suspect it's not possible to find the problem via forum exchanges.

is your cc desktop app installed in your virtual environment?

Hi! Yes it is. I can install Adobe CC, but not all the applications in my package show up as available to install. iOS is fine.

adobe support might offer help by connecting to your computer. if you contact them via chat.  there are 2 ways to contact adobe support; chat and twitter (now x):

in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.
