I am facing some challenges with the installation and licensing of Adobe Creative Cloud, and I'm seeking your expert advice to resolve the issue.

Problem Description: I recently purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and eagerly proceeded with the installation process. However, upon running the Creative Cloud desktop application, I encountered an error message stating, "Error Code 205 - Unable to activate the product." Despite multiple attempts, the issue persists, and I am unable to access any of the Adobe applications.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken: In my efforts to troubleshoot the problem, I have already tried the following steps:

  1. Checked my Internet connection and confirmed that it is stable.
  2. Signed out and signed back in to my Adobe account.

Disabled firewall and antivirus temporarily to eliminate any potential conflicts.

  1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the Creative Cloud desktop app.

System Information:

  • Operating System: [Your OS version, e.g., Windows 10 / macOS Big Sur]
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Version: [Your version, if known]

Seeking Guidance: I am reaching out to the community to seek your valuable guidance on resolving this activation issue. Are there any specific troubleshooting steps I might have missed? Is there a way to manually activate the product or reset the licensing status? I'm open to any suggestions or solutions that could help me get Creative Cloud up and running smoothly.

I appreciate your time and expertise in assisting me with this matter. Your insights will not only benefit me but also other Adobe users who might encounter a similar issue.

Thank you in advance for your support and valuable contributions.

Best regards

Ella

for others tempted to use the adobe cleaner tool, use it properly if you use it:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.

Hi there,

This does not sound ideal. We appreciate the fact that you tried to troubleshoot the issue on your own before reaching out for support.

You can follow the article shared by the expert above. https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/fix-licensing-error-205.html

Ideally, this should fix the problem.

Regards,

Shivangi
