serial number invalid when i try to reinstall

Question

Hello I bought a cs5.5 many years ago and tried to reinstall with my serial number recently but it's saying the serial number is invalid. However, it is shown in my account the record of the version i bought. Why is this so? How can I resolve this? I just need the software to do my work!!!

I have to say, I experienced the same issue but with Creative suite 6. After over an hour on the phone with what was suppose to be Adobe Tech support, on why I am getting an error with my serial number not being valid, I checked on-line and my SN has been valid with Adobe since April, 2014 and on file. Now you all say its not. Got on the phone with a manager, and was told she would have the correct "Support Tech" person contact me....once again I am getting nothing but run arounds and lies from Adobe. I have owned an Adobe product since Photoshop first came on the market and this is the first time I actually truly believe Adobe as a company has failed its customer base in so many un-ethical ways. I would still like to have my software working again if Adobe can actually put me in contact with a person who can assist without being on the phone and being passed around over and over and over again. Shame on you!
