Serial Number is Invalid

After using CS6 for the past 10 years, the start of the new year greats me with the software starting up in Trial mode.  Entering serial number information from original package results in message that it is invalid.  Logging into my account, where I thought I had originally entered product information, is now blank and when attempting to "register" my 10 year old copy of the product results with message that "This serial number is already in use." well... yeah, I'm using it and have been for years!

There is no option to "deactivate" any of the programs as some of the suggestions I read said to do. Chat says to come to the forums as the person there said they could not help.

Extra info: you can only deactivate apps yourself if you have a subscription (later) version.

It is essential: This issue can only be solved by customer care. So, when the chat support tells you to come to the fora, you should insist that it is not something that the users can solve. And then ask to speak to a supervisor.

 

BTW: Adobe is not contacting you by skype or anything else. Either you contact them by chat or phone, or Adobe customer care specifically scheduled a call back for you. There is no unsolicited private message, and all Adobe employees here are badged as Adobe employees.
