Serial Number is not valid

I bought Adobe photoshop elements 12 from Best Buy a few years ago. I had problems with installing it then but somehow did it. Recently my computer had to be revised to the manufacture (time of purchase). Photoshop was deleted. Luckily I had the number on this website. (Adobe). But it won't work. States it is invalid.
