Serial Number Not Valid 2nd Install CS5.5

I'm trying to download CS5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher on my Windows 8.1 machine and receive a "Serial Number Not Valid" notification. I have already downloaded the product on my Macbook Pro a few years ago, but was under the impression I was allowed to download it on 2 computers. Anything I can do???

the serial number for a mac installation is not the same as for a windows installation.  and, in fact, cs5.5 is not a dual  platform product so you cannot install it on a windows machine unless you have a windows license/serial number.

you could upgrade to creative cloud.  the subscription apps (cs6, cc and cc 2014) are all dual platform.
