Hello,

I use Windows 8.1 and own a University Lightroom 5.

I tried everything to install LR5, for example Error 1935 | Assembly component Microsoft.VC80.CRT | Install | CS4, CS5, CS5.5 products | Windows

and I receive the following message

Produkt: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 64-bit -- Fehler 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component{6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070005. assembly interface: lAssemblyCache, function: CreateAssemblyCacheltem, assembly name: Microsoft.VC90.CRT,version=,,9.0.21022.8,,,publicKeyToken=,,1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b,,^processorArchitecture=,,amd64,,,type=,,Win32"

It seems to be a problem with access rights.

Please help

95% of the web tells about .NET Problems but it isn't in my case.

I solved the problem that may occur frequently.

The whole solution can be seen in http://weblogs.asp.net/evovision/one-of-possible-solutions-to-visual-c-2008-redistributable-installation-error-1935-with-hresult-0x8007005

But here the quick solution from weblogs:

"The most important thing is: The two folders - winsxs and winsxs\installtemp - have different permissions! InstallTemp should be granted Full Control to System and Administrators. If not, the setup program could not write vc80 dlls or vc90 dlls into the folder."

So I changed the permission of C:\Windows\WinSxS\InstallTemp for System and Administrators to full. Please use the plural for Administrators with the "s". If it does not work, change the owner of the folder to Administrators or in German "Administratoren" and change access rights.
