Question

Shared Video File link in Creative Cloud [notSuite] files not starting in Safari browser (iPhone)

I'm now using the Creative Suite Work section to share my Video files (mainly MP4)

I used to use DropBox and when the iphone user clicked on the link it would present the video window - then click on the > sign would play the video within safari.

With the Creative Suite file link I have emailed to someone, when you click on the > sign in the play window (in safari) nothing happens ?.

If you download the file it works - but surely it should stream like Dropbox did?.

If you view on another PC (eg within firefox for example)  it works straight away. Problem is just on iPhone ?

Any tips/guidance welcome

Safari in iphone has Cookies enabled.

Thx

I've seen this before with Creative Cloud assets.  Safari is a stupid browser when compared to Firefox or Chrome.  It doesn't know what to do with MP4 links  unless you wrap the link in HTML5 <video>  code or download file to local computer first.   Best advice, use another browser.

Thank you to those who have replied.

In fact - apologies, as I should have said Creative Cloud - however, if you look in Windows File Explorer it does say Creative Suite Files, and I have seen Adobe refer to it as Creative Suite - all Product Marketing confusion if you ask me.

Anyway, I think as you say above, this could be a quirk of iPhone Safari, hence ability to use another browser is a bit confusing just for Adobe. Requesting friends to change their browser default to Chrome on an iphone (just for Adobe sake) will be a bit mad.

It is strange how a DropBox shared MP4 file will allow iPhone to start playing the file straight away though ?

As I am sending this to a group of friends, some may have Android based phones which don't display the problem, but I have yet to establish if that is the case.

I have just looked again at my iphone Safari settings and Cookies are definitely unblocked.

The site is saying I have cookies blocked - so what is going on?.

Can anyone also explain what cookies Adobe are trying to use here when someone just plays a privately sent link from My Work area Creative Cloud??

Any other wisdom people can shed on this niggly problem on this would be welcomed - as sending an Adobe Creative Cloud  link to a non savvy technical person (with an iphone) will confuse them,  as they will just tell me 'I clicked on the link but the file won't play...'

Back to Dropbox maybe ?

I do have the same issue.  I can share picture but videos do not play or download from the shared link.

I'm not sure what you mean... Creative Suite went away about 6 years ago, when Creative Cloud came out

If you actually mean Creative Cloud file sharing, the links below may help... especially the last one

File Sync Links that may help... all the links I have, since I don't know the cause of your specific problem
