Sigh...older education version

I need help.

In about 2013, while working at a university, I bought an education version of CS5.  I never opened it, as I switched jobs and ended up not needing it.  Now I work at another University (so I am still in education, obviously). I am getting a new Mac for my home and now would like to upload the software on the new Mac (I am purchasing an external CD ROM).

In the packaging, which I never opened until last night, there is a product code.  I went to the assorted web sites and tried to enter my product code.  YES I WENT TO IDENTIT-E. It said "Identit-e does not recognize this product code" YES, I WENT TO EVERY OTHER SITE I COULD FIND listed in the many help forums, etc..  I chatted, twice, with Adobe's help.  There was no help.  I chatted with Identit-e help and he/she said that code did not exist.

How do I get a serial number for a product I legitimately bought.  I CAN prove I work at an educational institution--I've got a "pay stub" scanned in and ready to go.

I am sorry, Mike, but if you did not redeem the product code then it will no longer be possible to obtain a Creative Suite 5 serial number.  In case you did go through the process please review your account on http://www.adobe.com/ to see if any serial numbers are registered.  For complete details on how to locate your registered serial number see Find your serial number .

The serial number registration process was not automatic for Creative Suite 5.  This means that after you entered your Product Code, at the Identit-e web site you were then provided with a serial number.  You would still need to register the serial number on http://www.adobe.com for it to be registered.

We do now have a Creative Cloud offering for Education.  You mentioned you work at a University.  I would recommend inquiring with them if they already have an agreement with Adobe you can utilize.  If not then see Creative Cloud for education | Educational institutions to find out more details regarding discounted Student and Teacher pricing for Creative Cloud memberships.

Unfortunately, Mike, if you never submitted the product code then it will not be possible to obtain a Creative Suite 5 serial number.  We no longer work with Identit-e to provide this service as serial numbers are not utilized with a Creative Cloud membership.

An Adobe serial number is 6 groups of 4 digits

A redemption code is something else (I bought CS6 at WSU before I retired, and my redemption code is long gone and redeemed for a serial number)

Redemption Code to get serial number https://redeem.licenses.adobe.com/getserial

If you did not redeem your code at that time to get a serial number, I don't think anyone can help now

What I have is a product code that was printed on a card which was in the inside left of the jewel case.
