Space Bar not working

In my editing the spacebar stopped working. My work will not play when I hit the spacebar or the play button in the screen. Any ideas what it could be? Thank you.

Put your computer to sleep. Close the laptop lid if you have a laptop. Open it back up, and wake up the computer. The spacebar and other shortcut keys should work again.
