Strange offerings...

Hopefully I put this in the right area...

I currently have the biggest Adobe plan (all apps), but I only get 100gb in CC storage.

If I downgrade to the cheapest package (Photographer's package), I get 1tb CC storage.

This seems rather unusual to me.

I contacted customer support and they confirmed that since I have the highest package, I can't get more than 100gb and if I wanted 1tb of storage, I would need to pay them less money.

Correct answer Kanikas

If you have purchased the 1TB storage with a different account, definitely it would be of no help to you.

You will have to purchase it with the same ID.

I've seen this issue in a couple of threads now, so can I pose these questions hopefully to clear this up once and for all.

  • Can you purchase a second subscription with a single Adobe ID?
  • I believe the answer to this is yes - if so, are the two subscriptions complementary?  In other words, if I have one subscription to the full suite with 100GB cloud storage and another to the Lightroom CC plan with 1TB storage (using the same Adobe ID), can all the applications from the full suite (Photoshop, Portfolio, Spark, mobile, etc.) also use the 1TB storage?  In other words again, if I move my 500GB Lightroom catalog to the cloud with my Lightroom CC plan, can I also use Lightroom Classic CC, Photoshop, Portfolio and the mobile apps (from my CC All Apps plan) to access the online library?
  • And if this is true, why is Adobe charging so much for the 1TB storage option for the full suite?  You can achieve the same result at half the price with two subscriptions.

I can't wait to start using the new Lightroom CC with all my photos in the cloud, but I want to really make sure of the facts before making this commitment.

Hi,

It's true that complete Creative Cloud comes with 100 GB storage and Photography comes with a 1TB storage. Since these are widely used plans, as per user's demands 1 TB was added. We are working on getting the same for other plans as well.

If you are using the Complete Creative Cloud plan, you can definitely purchase the Lightroom package to add 1 TB storage to your account.

I inquired with customer service over a week ago and they told me otherwise.  They said I need to either procure a second account or cancel the my current account.  They left me with the impression that if I ordered the Lightroom packaged to get the 1tb storage that it would not be connected to my main account thereby making the additional space useless in other apps.

Hi, I posed a similar question yesterday.  I think the answer is to retain the 100GB All Apps subscription and add a second subscription for the 1TB Lightroom version for less than £10.  But I have not been able to confirm yet whether this will work or even be allowed.
