Student and teacher?

I want to buy cs6 design and web for students and I can't seem to find it on the adobe website anymore.

Anyway what I need to know now is, if I buy the US version on amazon can I activate it in Ireland? or if I buy US do I need to be going to school in the US?

I need to know this before I buy because I really can't afford to waste that amount of money on something I can't use.

The creative cloud option is no good to me because I have enough bills to pay every month
