Subscription Questions

I specifically went out and found a CS6 version of Production Premium so I could cancel my Creative Cloud subscription which I had been paying for for years. Now that I canceled my subscription, I get a notice to renew my subscription and it won't let me use the CS6 products. Has Adobe got this so  we can't even use any old Adobe software without their costly subscription? Anyone have any ideas hoe I can keep using the old CS6?
