Text Formatting in Adobe Portfolio - Page Description

So, I was editing the page description on a page in Adobe Portfolio, and noticed that when I put two spaces after a period in the textbox, it resulted in only one space after the period in the description on the actual page.  I was wondering if there was a setting or way that I could prevent it from deleting the other space.
