The Labyrinth that is the Adobe "Help" Center Led Me HERE...

I'm here for the same reason as many others because after much searching, reading, clicking, hair-pulling, I realized my last hope for an answer to an incredibly simple question would be to go to the FORUMS (and I actually FOUND the forum button)!

So here's the problem. I went to Adobe.com and tried to purchase Photoshop... soon after I clicked on what I thought would take me to the PHOTOSHOP purchase page I was faced with some fancy "Cloud" icons and also Photoshop, so I clicked PURCHASE and subscribed to a year at about $12/month. I'm more than happy to pay the subscription price, but my Photoshop appears to have been a "trial" and doesn't work now. I have no idea what Cloud is and I don't need it, I just need Photoshop.

Fortunately for Adobe, the internet has made it atrociously difficult to reach anyone for help or find the answers you are looking for regarding WRONG ORDERS. Something you'd imagine would be somewhere on the front page of the help page, but nope. So here I am.

How do I change my subscription to what I THOUGHT I was buying without paying a hefty penalty for the misleading advertising and all the hoop-jumping I had to do to make it here??

Time to familiarize yourself with Adobe's Cloud model since that's the only way of getting Photoshop these days.

As Nancy says, Cloud is Adobe's term for the distribution and management of their subscription licensing model.

Everything is managed through the Cloud desktop app. All downloads, updates and other details.

So you subscribe, download and install the Cloud desktop app. Then you download and install Photoshop via the app. That's all there is to it.

1) Sign-in with your Adobe ID (email) and password.

2) Download & install the Creative Cloud Desktop App.  You will use this app to install & update your Adobe products (Photoshop).

Use the Creative Cloud desktop app to manage your apps and services

Creative Cloud is a distribution model.  The software actually downloads & installs on your computer much the same as it always has.
