Hi, I purchased Adobe Illustrator CS6 Win on the 12/03/2014 from royaltechsavers.com (I still have the original invoice).

I just deactivated it on my PC as I want to use it on my Surface 4 Pro, however I only get this message now:

The serial number you have entered has been revoked. This product cannot be licensed. Please contact Customer Support.

I contacted customer support who sent me here (after a long and painful Adobe account bug preventing me from using the forum, only to be told it works for me reply). Case 0222145284

Please help!

MercilessEnemy I am sorry that you have been facing difficulty reinstalling Illustrator CS6.  I reviewed the account you posted on, and case 0222145284, but I did not see Illustrator CS6, any other software titles, registered under the e-mail address/Adobe ID you used to post to this public forum.

MercilessEnemy if you are concerned that your serial number has been revoked, or is invalid, then please attempt to register the serial number at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find complete details regarding the process at Find your serial number.

If you face any difficulties registering the serial number you are welcome to contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  From your previous interaction, in case 0222145284, it appears the serial number you provided was revoked so it should not be able to be successfully registered.  You can personally confirm this by attempting to register the serial number at http://www.adobe.com/.

If you have any additional questions please update this discussion MercilessEnemy.

    Step 1. License revoked

    Step 2. Blame Adobe

    Step 3. Check serial

Step 4. Don't buy from sites with deals to good to be true.

Step 5. Uninstall and use Microsoft Paint

I actually think Adobe may be responsible for this one. If you look at the

response to my email Royal Tech sent the links highlight this being an

    issue.

It's funny that I downloaded from the Adobe site and also entered the

serial number on the Adobe site. But Adobe take 2+ years to tell me that it

wasn't the right serial number. More like they decided to revoke that there

    end for money reasons.

Adobe you are still not answering the specific questions I posed in my

message and I feel like you are trying to fob me off.

Marcdcm can you please send me the serial number in question via private message.  I will be happy to review the serial number.

No progress on Royal Tech Savers, they just blanked me after the first reply.

I have been informed I was sold a volume license (see below), even though it did not state this during making the purchase or what that even meant. I'm still waiting for royal-techsavers to get back to me.

    02/06/2017

    Dear Customer,

Please be advised that Adobe has implemented their revoked notifications for all Volume License products early last year (2016).

This means that if you attempt to reinstall your product whether to the same or a different computer the product will generate the message that the license key has been revoked and you will not be able to reactivate the software with the serial key.

In light of this we are offering the option of providing you a replacement retail serial key at a discounted price if you need to reinstall or reactivate your Adobe product.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, this is an Adobe issue, however we still want to provide assistance to our clients.

    Thanks for the update MercilessEnemy.

I would strongly recommend looking at a Creative Cloud membership if they are looking for any additional money from you.  You can find complete details regarding available Creative Cloud memberships at Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud.

The full membership includes access to Creative Suite 6 versions of Adobe Creative software titles if you require them for compatibility reasons.

Regardless please make sure to register any new serial numbers which are provided too you.  I would also try to verify you are being provided an individual license and not a volume license.  This will help make sure you do not face similar difficulties in the future.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I can see the website no longer has a valid certificate. I purchased in 2014 and so the website was working fine, it had good reviews on trustpilot.com and a London contactable address. It was my first purchase of digital software and was not cheap. Would it be possible to claim back on the credit card being over 3 years or is there nothing I can do now?

The worst thing about this is I was contacted by some scammer on this forum called Jeff Franz.Adobe, who I spoke to on Skype (adobesystems_24x7) and he managed to get my email and mobile before I clicked on. According to this forum he has been doing this since 2015. Very reassuring to know that I'm being passed on from the real Adobe support to this, thanks Adobe!

That's some horrible luck, sorry to hear about the Skype scammer. I doubt that particular user has been around that long though (only active over the last month or so from what I can see). Unfortunately the skype scam issue is one that can happen in any online community and has been around for a long time.

I've reported that username to the site staff, they should be deactivated pretty quickly.

As for your credit card, I don't think charge backs are possible after 3 years, but you'd need to check with your company to find out exactly what, if any, recourse you have on that end.

You may be the unlucky recipient of pirated software that Adobe has finally deactivated. There has been a renewed push by Adobe to revoke illegal copies lately. Sometimes getting software from random online sources at too-good-to-be-true pricing actually is too good to be true.

It may be a bug in their activation service, but I'd be willing to bet you have an illegitimate copy.

This pop up when I try to visit the site you point to is not reassuring...

According to https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/royaltechsavers.com  the owner is in Panama, not the US

Sites like that SOMETIMES sell volume license versions purchased from a company that is going out of business

That is not legal, since a volume license is only for the original purchasing company, and when the number of licenses is reached (or when Adobe discovers that a volume license has been illegally sold) the serial number is no longer good

IF that is what you unknowingly bought, there is now no way to activate your serial number
